Sports gear donation

Wed   20-11-2013

In November, ERCRS was very grateful to receive a gift of new sports equipment, kindly donated by a group of year 8 students from Mt. St. Joseph’s College, Altona. ERCRS was contacted by Ms. Merryn Snooks, the Year 8 Coordinator at Mt. St. Joseph’s, to say that a group of Year 8 girls from the College who had participated in a fitness competition called the Premiers Active Challenge, were successful in winning a $1,000 gift voucher from Rebel Sports. Rather than spend the gift voucher on themselves, the girls generously agreed that they would use it to buy sports equipment for two or three different organisations. ERCRS was one organisation that they selected.

On 20th November, Merryn brought fifteen of the Year 8 students across to the ERCRS office in St. Albans to present us with new soccer and softball equipment. During their visit, the Mt. St. Joseph students also visited the Errington Centre to see where the ERCRS learning support sessions are held. We were thrilled to receive  the new sports equipment and made great use of it at our end of year activity day. Thanks again Mt. St. Joseph’s College for your thoughtfulness.
